and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own is an electro-acoustic voice-based attempt at an opera -or what opera can be. This work subverts opera archetypes, expresses myriad vocal styles, tries to feel through all of the emotions (within and beyond melodrama), and especially explore vulnerability and being in community.
